My very first recipe

Tonight I cooked Chile and Cheese spirals!!! It was a quick and simple meal.. but I had to deal with the one thing that I hate with passion is Black olives.. YUCK!!! I got the wrong kind .. I should have got the sliced rings and chopped up my own .. but noooo I got chopped and it looks like Caviar.. ewwwww!!! and after I got it all mixed up and got it on my tortilla shell and then dipped it in Salsa it wasnt so bad!!! I wasnt sure if Nathan would like it or not .. but surpised he does.. Tomorrow i am going to make Blue cheese Mushrooms.. I am kinda nervous .. I have never cooked with Mushrroom before....Below is the recipe for spirals

Chile and Cheese spirals
4oz cream cheese (softened)
1 c shedded cheese
1 can (4oz) Green chiles
3 green onions sliced
1/2 c red bell Pepper
1 can (2.25oz)chopped black olives
4 (8in)taco size flour tortilla
and salsa your choice!!!

1) Combine- Cream cheese, Cheddar cheese,Chiles,Onions,Peppers, and olives in a med bowl
2 Spread- 1/2 cup cheese mixture on each tortilla,roll them up and wrap each roll in plastic wrap and chill for a hour
3) Remove-Plastic wrap and slice each roll into (6 )3/4in peices , then serve with salsa.

Spirals can be kept in fridge for 1 to 2 days!!!
Makes 24 appetizers

And so it all begins here!!!!!

The challenge- to teach myself how to cook in a year..doing what ever it takes to suceed ..I am gonna use my cookbooks that I have on my shelf. My tester is my hubby.. to let me know if it is good or not... and if he likes the recipe or not

Contender- 25 year old women who lives in southern ohio with my hubby and 2 cats, by day she is a worker at Bellisio food in southern ohio and by night she is foodie lovers.. Risking my 3 year marriage and my health... one young women in a small outdated kitchen.. how far will i make it no one can really say ....

Julie and Julia




So this is my very frist blog and I am so excited!!!
My husband and I just home from watching the movie Juile and Juila.. it was a great movie, I loved it and I give it two thumbs up!!!.. Julie has really inspired me that I can teach myself to cook that I dont have to go to culinary school to learn.. I cant wait now to cook
